We wish to inform you that a PAB (orderly) working on the 4th floor at Saint Margaret has tested positive for the coronavirus. As a result, residents on the floor are currently on isolation and are in quarantine until September 29th. I should also point out that both residents and staff are being tested for the virus.

As part of our effort to stop the spread of infection, visiting is now limited to caregivers only.

A Caregiver is defined as anyone who offers (or wishes to offer) significant care to the resident by looking after their needs and contributing to the resident’s integrity and well-being.

“Significant care” refers to assistance offered on a regular basis, in response to the needs of the resident and in order to contribute to their integrity and well-being. Care and support could be offered during meal times, in overseeing a resident’s general condition, support with daily activities or recreational activities, help with walking or offering moral support or comfort.

Care givers are screened upon their arrival at St Margaret and testing is offered onsite on a weekly basis for COVID-19. They also must wear personal protective equipment at all times and are confined to the room of the resident to whom they are providing support and care.

We will keep you informed of developments, and thank you once again for your support and understanding.
